How to pay KPLC Electricity Bill through M-Banking in Kenya
This option gives customers of cooperative banks the option to pay electricity directly using their bank accounts. Here, the customers have to register with the bank and also register their Kenya Power account number too so that they can make this payment easily
M-Pesa Pay Bill
customers are encouraged to use the paybill numbers 888888 and 888880 for postpaid and prepaid bill payments respectively. Please follow the instructions below to top up your electricty.
Paying your Postpaid Electricity Bill with M-Pesa (Safaricom)
- Select “Pay Bill” from the M-Pesa menu.
- Enter the Kenya Power business number 888 888.
- Enter your new Kenya Power account number e.g. 123456.
- Enter the amount you wish to pay which should be between Shs. 100 and Shs.35,000.
- Enter your M-Pesa PIN.
- Confirm that all details are correct.
- You will receive a confirmation of the transaction via SMS.
Paying your KPLC electricity bill with Equitel (Sim Tool Kit)
- Select Eazzy Pay from your Equitel menu
- Select Pay Bill from Eazzy Pay.
- Choose the bank account number to pay from e.g.0123456789102
- Select business number – KPLC Bills (Post Paid)
- Enter your new Kenya Power meter number e.g. 2831172 or 3436980.
- Enter the amount you wish to pay which should be between Shs.100 and Shs.500,000.
- Enter your Equitel PIN and press OK
- Confirm that all details are correct by pressing 1 OK.
- You will receive a text confirmation of the transaction from Equity bank.
How to pay your electricity bill using Airtel Money in Kenya
Airtel customers can pay their KPLC electricity bill using their Airtel Money. This can be done following the steps below:
- Go to the Airtel Money menu
- Choose “Money”
- Press “OK”
- Under the Nickname field enter “Kenya Power”
- Enter the full amount you intend to pay
- Enter your Airtel Money password
- Enter your KPLC account number
- Finally, a confirmation text message for the payment of the electricity bill transaction will be received.
