Kilimanjaro Christian Medical University College is situated 4 kilometers north of Moshi Municipality on the slopes of the snowcapped Mount Kilimanjaro, Tanzania. The KCMC was opened in March 1971 after completion of the hospital buildings and was immediately taken over by the Tanzania Government. It was, however, handed back to the GSF in August 1992. The changes in Government policy to liberalize the economy and provision of social services rekindled the desire for higher education within the circles of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania (ELCT). Entry Schemes into KCMUCo Degree Programmes

According to TCU there are four schemes approved by the Commission for entry into undergraduate degree programmes. These are as follows:

1. The direct qualifications for holders of Form Six Qualifications;
2. The equivalent qualifications for holders of Ordinary Diploma or Equivalent Qualifications;
3. Foundation Programme of the Open University of Tanzania; and
4. The equivalent qualifications for holders of a bachelor degree award.

Below are the General Minimum Entry Requirements to varios degree programme according to TCU

Completed A’ Level Studies before 2014

Two principal passes with a total of 4.0 points in Two Subjects defining the admission into the respective programme (where A = 5; B = 4; C= 3; D = 2; E = 1; S = 0.5)

Completed A’ Level Studies in 2014 and 2015

Two principal passes (‘C’ and above) with a total of 4.0 points from Two Subjects defining the admission into the respective programme (where A = 5; B+ = 4; B = 3; C= 2; D = 1; E = 0.5)

Completed A’ Level Studies from 2016 onward

Two principal passes with a total of 4.0 points in Two Subjects defining the admission into the respective programme (where A = 5; B = 4; C= 3; D = 2; E = 1; S = 0.5)

Foundation Programme of the OUT

• A GPA of 3.0 accumulated from six core subjects and at least a C grade from three subjects in a respective cluster (Arts, Science and Business Studies)
• PLUS An Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination with at least 1.5 from two subjects OR
• An Ordinary Diploma from the recognized institution with a GPA of at least 2.0 OR
  NTA level 5 /Professional Technician Level II Certificate.
