The department has introduces an alternative avenue for applicants to submit their applications (https://sayouth.me/DBE). Sa Youth has added another web-based electronic application form that is not linked to nor dependent on the SA Youth Mobi-site in terms of connectivity or stability

Steps to step apply via https://sayouth.me/DBE

  • Visit https://SaYouth.me/DBE in order to access the form
  • The Link will take application to the homepage where they will be required to select the province in which they are in.
  • Fill in the required fields with your personal particulars and ensure that all information is correct, particularly your contact number.
  • Search the names of the school closest to you or click the drop down menu to select the school. in the province in which you are located, Only School in the province in which you are located will appear on the list.
  • Double check that all information is correct and Click Submit

The Basic Education Recruitment Initiative would like to notify the public that the electronic/web-based application form is an alternative application method; However, it is zero rated and will require a small amount of data (3MB) to complete. mobi site

Applicants should note that DBE Application form online must be submitted online, as walking into schools due to Covid19 restrictions and preparing for final exams for the year, will not be allowed in both primary and secondary schools.

Applicants who need help applying with DBE Application form online can also be supported through the nearest NYDA office or community library that has a connection.

Young people between the ages of 18 and 35 who are not currently in educational training and are not receiving any form of government grants, as well as young people with disabilities and women, are eligible and encouraged to apply.

The department seeks to provide 287 000 unemployed young people, (+/-192 000 Education Assistants and +/- 95 000 General School Assistants) employment and training opportunities in the education sector, as part of the Presidential Youth Employment Initiative (PYEI)-Basic Education Employment Initiative (BEEI), which forms part of the Presidential Employment Stimulus (PES), seeking to mitigate the devastating economic challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.
