About NBAA

The National Board of Accountants and Auditors of Tanzania (NBAA) is an Institution that registers and manages Accountants and Auditors and regulates the Accounting profession in the country. NBAA Established by the Accounting and Auditors Act chapter 286 as reviewed in 2002. The National Board of Accountants and Auditors is under the Ministry of Finance. The Board was established in 1972 and began its official function on January 15, 1973.

Since its inception, the NBAA has made significant contributions to the development of the accounting profession in Tanzania, especially in the promotion, registration, standardization and administration of examinations. The NBAA strives to make a significant contribution to promoting good governance through the development of the accounting profession in Tanzania.

The accountancy profession has a key role to play in inspiring business confidence and assisting economic growth. NBAA members play influential roles in public and private sectors. As a professional body, NBAA supports members and stakeholders through many services and provides a common voice for the profession.
