The district has an area of 837.4 km2 (323.3 sq mi). Mdoe serves as the district’s administrative hub. To the east Handeni District is bordered by Pangani and Muheza Districts, on the North by Korogwe and Simanjiro Districts, on the West by Kilindi District and on the South by Bagamoyo District. By June 2025, the Town Council envisions a community that is educated, has an improved level of living, and coexists amicably.

Director of Handeni Town Council – Tanga through a new Employment Permit with Ref. Na. FA. 170/369/01 “B” / 160 dated June 27, 2022 issued by the Permanent Secretary Office of the President Public Service Management and Good Governance. Announces job vacancies for Tanzanians with the following qualifications and skills to fill the following vacancies-
- Mtendaji wa mtaa daraja III – 7 POSITIONS
- Mtunza kumbukumbu msaidizi daraja la III – 1 POSITION
General Qualifications
- Must be a citizen of Tanzania.
- Must be 18 to 45 years of age.
- Application letters should be accompanied by copies of Certificates of Education, Profession, Birth Certificate,
- National Identity Card or NIDA Number certified by an attorney or court.
- For those who have studied outside Tanzania their certificates must be verified and certified by the authorities (TCU
- or NECTA) according to the Chet level.
- The application must be accompanied by a personal CV with 2 color photographs (passport size).
- Public Servants are not allowed to apply.
