Kisimiri Secondary Institution opened in May 2002 as a fully registered government school. It is a co-educational school that teaches science and the arts. For form five and six, it provides two combinations: HKL (History, Kiswahili, and English Language) and PCM (Physics, Chemistry, and Advanced Mathematics). The school has both day and boarding students, and they all share the same study schedule from morning to afternoon. All A-level students live on campus as Scholars.
