It has both the highway Tanzania- Zambia road (TANZAM) and the railway line Tanzania – Zambia Railway Authority (TAZARA) linking Tanzania to Southern African countries, which passes through the City making it one of the famous and important entry and exit points in the country.
The City has also additional functions as the District and Region Head Quarters. Moreover the availability of infrastructure in the City, labour supply, land, reliable water supply and electricity, air port, Good Governance and markets create good environment for investments both Local and Foreign.

The Director of Mbeya City Council announces job applicants who have applied for the position of Driver II, Special Executive Secretary of the Street. Kitchen Waiter Interview will be held from 28/07/2022 to 02/08/2022 at Azimio Primary School starting at 1:30 am.
Interview shortlisted candidates should adhere to the following guidelines –
- Each interviewee should have an ID for identification, the required IDs are:- Nida ID. Voter’s ID, Resident’s ID, passport, car license and identification letter from Kipp/Local Government.
- The interviewees must come with their ACTUAL EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATES according to the applicant’s qualifications without forgetting the birth certificate.
- Interviewees who will present “Testimonials” provisional results, statement of results. form IV and VI result slips (Form IV and VI result slips) WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AND THEY WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO CONTINUE WITH THE INTERVIEW
- Each interviewee will pay for food, travel and accommodation.
- For applicants who studied outside Tanzania, make sure their certificates have been checked and approved by the relevant authorities (TCU and NECTA)
